Mario Martinez is a Spanish industrial designer based in Copenhagen working across the fields of furniture, lighting and art direction. He founded his studio in 2018, driven by the relationship between objects, people and environments with the ambition to create simple and responsible designs that are coherent and communicate a sense of harmony. This sensibility together with his appreciation for craftmanship and ordinary objects is reflected in the proportions, use of materials and refining of details in his work.
He studied in Barcelona, worked in New York and moved to Copenhagen to work alongside Hee Welling and Gudmundur Ludvik before starting his own practice. After exhibiting at Salone Satellite in 2019 & 2022, he was awarded AD Satellite raising stars and went on to collaborate with companies like Karl Andersson & son, MUJI, Space10 or Gandia Blasco. His work has been exhibited and featured internationally, most notably at Triennale milano, Salone del mobile, Stockholm Design Week, Dezeen, Frame or Design milk.
